ABOUT
Sitting at the heart of the village of GEAY, L'Ancienne Ecole is an old Maison de Maitre built in the early 1800's that was used as the village school in the 1950's/60's.
Idealy situated between the historic towns of THOUARS and BRESSUIRE in the Deux Sevres region, part of the Poitou-Charentes department which, having its own micro-climate is credited to be the second sunniest region in France. Within easy reach of many attractions, we can offer you a warm welcome and comfortable stay whether it be for one night, a short break or longer holiday.
We are within easy reach of the ferry ports being just 4.5 hours by road from Cherbourg and 6.5 hours from Calais making us an ideal over night stop if you are traveling further south.
We are serviced by 3 airports, Poitiers 1 hour drive, Nantes 1hour 20, and La Rochelle 1 hour 50.

Prices are per room, per night and include breakfast. Breakfast is continental and served between 7.30 and 10 am.

We accept payment in euros by cash or debit /credit card (minimum 1 euro)

Bird watching
and Fishing
France is home to many species, easily spotted whist walking, driving or at nature reserves. Try Pescalis Nature reserve and fishing lakes. Just 35 minutes away.
Leisure Activities
Fancy a swim or just relaxing in the park.
Just five minutes away there is a park, swimming lake and fishing lake.
Spend a summers afternoon strolling round the lakes, take a picnic, cool off with a swim. In Bressuire there is also a Bowling alley and cinema.
Markets
Visit the weekly markets full of fresh local produce or the antique and flea markets for that great find!
Love to roam around car boot sales? Theres always a vide grenier on somewhere over the weekends.

Just step outside our door and you can take a stroll along country lanes or follow the trail along the river at Bressuire just 15 minutes drive away.
